Enrichment Courses

Computers are available in the class for students to use. A schedule is put in place that allows each student to use the computer at least once a week. Basic aspects of the computer are taught to the students such as, turning the computer on and off, the proper names for the various parts of the computer, how to access programs, and how to use the mouse to point and click.

Arabic, Islamic Studies and Quran are taught to the students on a daily basis. Teachers who are well- versed in these areas instill in the children a structured and comprehensive curriculum that includes the basics in these areas. In the Arabic period students are educated in the Arabic alphabet, basic sound recognition, blending sounds of two letters, reading high -frequency words, writing, basic vocabulary such as greeting, colors, shapes and animals.

Within the Islamic studies curriculum the students are educated in the basic manners, etiquette, beliefs, holidays and history of the religion. The Quran curriculum allows for students to memorize various chapters of the Holy Quran as well as learn basic daily prayers and religious saying that are pertinent to the Islamic way of life. Poetry, in English and Arabic, is used to teach about various aspects of the curriculum such as holidays, the alphabet, family, etc.

Library Science is offered to the students in an effort to instill the importance of reading at an early age. All students in the pre-school program attend the school library on a weekly basis.

A structured Physical Education program is offered to the preschool students on a daily basis. Students acquire knowledge about various aspects of the physical body and learn to use them in an appropriate manner. Areas such as hand-eye coordination, catching-throwing, running with directionality, and friendly play are all assessed and reinforced.
